Early Intervention
Early Intervention services are available for infants and toddlers through age three.
What is Early Intervention?
Ohio Early Intervention is a statewide system that provides coordinated services to infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays.
It is based on the belief that every child is unique and develops at their own pace.
Early Intervention builds upon and provides supports and resources to assist parents and caregivers to enhance children’s learning and development through everyday routines.
Infants and toddlers learn best through everyday experiences and interactions with familiar people in familiar environments. This understanding shapes our commitment to support and coach families, empowering them to assist their child in the best way possible.
Support for Your Child
All families, with the necessary supports and resources, can enhance their children’s learning and development. Our team will help you recognize the important role you and other caregivers play in your child’s development. We'll work together with your family to write an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), and set goals based on how your child’s progress fits with what is important to your family.
Working Together
Our Early Intervention Providers are essential in partnering with parents and other caregivers to nurture children's learning and development. Our dedicated team is committed to meeting your child's developmental needs while collaborating with you to discover effective strategies that support the entire family in their everyday activities.

Principles Of Early Intervention
In Ohio, the Early Intervention Program fulfills the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C (Early Intervention program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities). The full text of the law is online at idea.ed.gov/download/statute.html.
